Whatever this season may bring, I was tired of the dancing, judges, and contestants. I just couldn't stand to watch Chloris Leachman. Melissa Rycroft, The Woz, Julianne's boyfriend, Chuck Wicks, Denise Richards, Shawn Johnson, and a few others came along too that really didn't interest me either.
Who really did interest me? I could not wait to watch Gilles Marini expertly dance during each episode. Marini was on my radar after watching the Sex and the City movie where he played Dante. Just like in Sex and the City, he proved to be the best entertainment on Dancing with the Stars. Gilles raises the temperature on the dance floor. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said what a lot of female views were thinking - Gilles wife Carole is very lucky.
The big disappointment on the show was Denise Richards - she showed an almost total lack of both talent and personality. Unfortunately The Woz had a great personality but just couldn't find his groove. Chuck Wicks wins an A for effort with he tremendous work he put into his dancing which kept him around until near the end. I was not interested in watching Lil' Kim, until I saw what an amazing dancer she turned out to be. With his inspiration and choreography, Derek Huff brought Dancing with the Stars to a professional level little seen in past seasons. They proved to be a powerful duo when they showed that they had chemistry along with their talent. How stunning was it then that Lil' Kim was voted off ahead of several less talented dance partners.
As it stands right now the last couples in competition are Melissa and Tony, Ty and Chelsie, Gilles and Cheryl, Shawn and Mark. When Jewel fractured the tibia in both her legs five days before the season premiere, that is when Melissa stepped up and took her place. Melissa didn't struggle too much for someone with such little prep time - she has training in ballet. Her dancing has been almost flawless, earning her a set of perfect scores on the last show. Even if you get a perfect score from the judges, you still risk being voted off the show. Just like Sabrina Bryan. She received a perfect score in another season and was eliminated early. Ty Murry is the dancer who has so improved, and is also so love-able. Ty's experience riding bulls and guiding horses doesn't translate directly to the dance floor and provided a big cache of voting fans who normally wouldn't watch Dancing with the Stars. Shawn Johnson's dancing was just as enchanting as her gold medal winning run at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Then there's Gilles who has never danced a dance I didn't enjoy.
So who will take home the winner's 100k bonus? Another couple goes home this week. Then the final three will have a showdown the next. I can't wait until the final show airs! Luckily I have a DVR for a backup just in case something comes up.
Hopefully you can watch Dancing in HD like I can - it really does make a difference. After several friends kept harping on how much of a difference it made I finally gave in and purchased a hi-def television, and boy am I happy I did! What a difference! HD really gives you that 'you're really there' feeling. I had no idea how good it was. Of course I also had to get HD cable service from my local cable provider, Comcast Cable, but the service is outstanding and the rates for adding high definition service are very low. For a really low price I took advantage of the triple play bundle offered by Comcast and added High Speed Internet and Voice to my HDTV cable order. My new broadband Internet service is lightning fast and has opened up a whole new world of multimedia that I didn't know existed before Comcast High Speed Online. As a bonus, they offer digital phone service at flat rate pricing. The phone is very clear and I can call friends and family around the US and never have to pay long distance charges. You do not have to think twice before order Comcast's great package deals. Saving money while enjoying the best cable tv, broadband internet, and digital phone service can offer is a no-brainer. For additional savings, Search the web, and you will find plenty of Comcast Cable's latest promotions. Consider Comcast's bundle called Triple Play. You can get each service in one discounted package for huge savings over purchasing each one individually.
